Place on Earth is a creative engagement process specifically designed to capture the perceptions of young people in cities around the world on the issues of climate change, governance and rapid urbanisation.
The process builds on the sophisticated, techniques of contemporary market research, using artists and creative activities to simulate responses which reflect the hopes, fears and aspirations of young people from a wide range of socio-economic, cultural and faith backgrounds and abilities.

Place on Earth project teams are made up of local government partners, youth groups, artists with socially and politically engaged practices and
Haring Woods. Working together with the youth groups we devise non-confrontational creative situations and workshop sessions with young
people in their own communities to explore the local and global impacts of climate change, rapid urbanisation, social cohesion, migration and
citizenship.

Workshops could be in the artist’s studio, in a cultural organisation or attached to a public arts, entertainment or sports event. Working as part
of an interdependent team with the artists over a period of weeks, the young people present their collective views through collaborative artworks in their chosen art form such as visual arts, theatre, music, text, web-based media, or whichever medium best communicates their  perceptions of the key issues.
