Jan-Gustav Strandenaes ia a consultant with ANPED- Northern Alliance for Sustainability and with United Nations Environment Programme and the Dutch-based, EU funded international NGO, ANPED (The Northern Alliance for Sustainability). Jan-Gustav Strandenaes is an expert on global environmental issues and sits on UNEP’s first Global Steering Committee to help foster inter-regional dialogue. Strandenaes  worked on disseminating information on UN issues during the 80s and early 90s, and has followed and worked with the CSD process (UN Commission for Sustainable Development) since 1997. Strandenaes has worked and lived in Botswana, Uganda, the US and Sweden gaining extensive NGO experience. He now works throughout the world as a consultant and a speaker at specialist conferences and workshops on governance, the environment and sustainability issues.
