Take a break and stop off at Energy Café for special fried egg breakfast, donations welcome! January 24th – January 30th Under Collective Construction (winter season) Urgent call for volunteers To help us on site to work on making the mobile kitchen in the horse trailer (includes exterior repairs, carpentry work, plumbing and gas cooker installation and install Signage around the Park and by the roadside. We will be there every day from 10am until 5pm. February 2nd – February 8th Urgent call for volunteers To help us work on the other café structures: Finishing the bender – making it cosy. finishing the tea and coffee bar – including making seating. Making Patchwork tent to fit over existing pole structure. (includes hand sewing, weaving, carpentry and ingenuity). And constructing a welcoming arch at the entrance to the site. We will be there every day from 10am until 5pm. Over this period our priorities are focusing on the above but anyone is welcome to drop by to see what’s happening, discuss ideas for Energy College, or make something on the spot for Energy Café with the materials we have on site. Bring Bike Maps provided aim is to source as much locally grown food as possible (including wild food) gather back at site with findings to cook up a sunset dinner. February 16 – March 14th Energy College A testing ground for off grid experiments Four weeks of Informal workshops, demonstrations, cook ups, talks, presentations etc. February 16 – 20th Kids are invited to take over for half term (Details to be confirmed) February 21st Melting Pot Lunch Party 1pm onwards. February 22nd – March 14th Details and schedule to be confirmed Energy College Wish list includes: >Beat the fuel crisis, come and make your own free electricity: from bike power, to wind, to solar experimentation. >Design, build and test ovens and stoves for winter cooking, >Take part in demonstrations on DIY hot water systems and central heating. >Explore Rainwater harvesting >Potential of willow, from coppicing, to fedging and building living structures, weaving and basketry + charcoal making and Bio char. >Inventing shelters, finding natural ways to insulate (felting etc) >Preparing for a café event: café furniture, outdoor stage building, skate ramp, dance floor and learning how to build a compost loo! >Making a mobile allotment, seed saving, composting etc >Outreach - Energy café crew offering services to local community >Talks and presentations on food production, complimentary currency, land remediation processes, collective living, common land and future of Gunpowder Park etc… >Plus all sorts of energizers (dawn chorus walk, jamming, Djing, foraging) and lots of cook ups!
